Naturalba Coffee Processing Facility
The Naturalba "beneficio" (processing facility), registered with Icafe (code 1167), is located in Pavones a small town near the city of Turrialba. This small facility completes the entire production process, starting with receiving the coffee fruit and sun drying to convert it into high quality café oro, or dried and peeled coffee beans that are ready for export. We also toast the coffee beans on site, where we transform the green beans into the coffee colored beans that we all recognize, with a rich flavor of coffee.
The sun drying process, guarantees a slow drying process, which respects the grains, and thus ensures a higher quality coffee and characteristics that are of high demand on the world market.
The entire production process takes place on site with a tracking system, allowing the most demanding of buyers to know exactly what farm their coffee is coming from and under what condition that coffee was grown, guaranteeing diversity amongst the micro-lots, and providing unique properties and characteristics.
